Macklann Basse and his wife Rose
Macklann Basse and his wife Rose left Togo in 2002 and came to the U.S. to study at Covenant Theological Seminary where Macklann also served as a pastor at New City Fellowship St. Louis -South City.  In 2010, God put a desire and vision on their hearts to return to Lome, Togo and start a church planting mission movement.  They are committed to training indigenous missionaries from West Africa who will preach the Gospel of Grace in Jesus Christ and seek the establishment of God’s Kingdom through the church as a community that embraces the reconciliation of the tribes and lives out God’s justice and righteousness for the poor, the widow, the orphan and the foreigner.

The AMANA Church meets in a growing  neighborhood of the capital city, Lome.  The Legbasseto area (“the land of idols) is steeped in traditions of animism and voodoo.  AMANA Community Church is the light of God’s love in Jesus Christ for the city and an expression of God’s refuge for widows, orphans, the poor and the oppressed.
